Barksdale Air Force Base is located about 5 miles south-east of Bossier City, Louisiana. Home of the oldest bomb wing in the Air Force, Barksdale is full of history. Surrounding this incredible Air Force Base is a ton of local culture. Get acquainted with Bossier City, Louisiana and indulge in all it has to offer!

As of 2014, Bossier City is the 6th largest city in the state with over 67,000 residents. Formerly known for its cotton exports, has now emerged as an Air Force and oil boomtown. Of all of things to proud of though, Bossier City is home to Barksdale Air Force Base! In the recent days tourism has been at an all time high, allowing for Bossier City’s economic base to expand. Adding to the charm and culture of this Riverfront community, are fun and exciting things to do. Did I mention there are several casinos in the area?!

Much like any other community, Bossier City is full of attractions! Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities to take part in the amazing local culture, this city has to offer. Featuring live performances on stage, from big names like The Band Perry, this one you definitely don’t want to miss!  We can’t forget about the Mudbug Madness! Known for renewing interesting in the Louisiana's unbelievably colorful culture, is held every year on Memorial Day, and is one of the largest Cajun festivals! You’ll find some of the best  entertainment, down by the Boardwalk, where you’ll find casinos, nightlife hotspots, awesome riverfront restaurants, and even better shopping!

Food, food, and more food! If you don’t already know, Louisiana as a whole is most definitely known for their amazing cuisine. If you’re looking for something a bit more on-the-go, Shreveport Farmer’s Market, is the perfect stop! Full of the best produce, meats, and baked goods, your stomach will surely leave happy!
